Education drives my decisions – personally and professionally

I have been a resident of the district for more than 13 years, and I have a son at Roseville Area Middle School.

I have worked at the University of Minnesota for more than 20 years, so I understand public education and the structure associated with a board: I know what is necessary for a board to work in concert with district leadership for the betterment of all involved.

I have actively participated in developing and managing a large budget and I know how that budget fits into a larger structure.

I am passionate about education – inside and outside the classroom – at all levels.

I was on a national university student housing foundation board and worked with that board and its leadership to move the organization forward. I served as regional representative and as the national secretary.

I am a member of the Maplewood Multicultural Advisory Committee. The committee fosters positive relationships between the police and public. It addresses social justice and inequity through positive and honest dialogue.

For the past 20 years I have owned a small business serving the Twin Cities community.
